This summer has been a very exciting time to be a Ranger at Occoneechee State Park. We have had the opportunity to partner with the Staunton- Meherrin Chapter of the NWTF on a habitat improvement project. The idea of a partnership between Occoneechee State Park and the NWTF started with humble beginnings in August of 2018.

Today at 3:30 at Bass Pro Ashland, we held our public drawing for our 9th Annual Wheelin’ Sportsmen Lucky 13 Gun Bash. We will be contacting the winners by phone over the next few days to arrange to have the firearms shipped to your local FFL dealer. ALL winners must meet Federal Firearms registration guidelines.

The Virginia State Chapter NWTF is hosting the 9th Annual Wheelin’ Sportsmen Gun Bash to benefit our Wheelin’ Sportsmen and Outreach programs. Tickets are available for $10 each from NWTF Chapters throughout Virginia. Fifty winners will be selected in the following order, and the 13th winner will receive $1,313.13.

We would like to cordially invite you to participate in the NWTF Virginia State Championship Turkey Calling Contest to be held on Saturday, January 30th 2016. This NWTF sanctioned contest will begin at 12:00 noon at the National Capital Sportsman Show located at the Fredericksburg Expo Center, Fredericksburg, VA. Pre-registration is suggested for all divisions: VA State, Senior Open, Intermediate, Friction or JAKES (Youth) calling contests! The top Virginia resident senior caller will be named the 2016 NWTF Virginia State Champion, the top Virginia resident Friction caller will be named the 2016 NWTF Virginia State Friction Champion.
